Dame Bronwen is the co-founder and chairman of Pultron Composites in Gisborne, which has grown into the biggest industrial technology and composite materials pultrusion company in Australasia, with a branch in the Middle East. Dame Bronwen was recently inducted into the New Zealand Hall of Fame for Women Entrepreneurs. In 2015, Bronwen was named Dame Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to business and the arts. She is an experienced company director and, among other directorships, has been on the boards of TVNZ and the NZ Symphony Orchestra (NZSO) and was the establishing chairman of First Light Tourism. Dame Bronwen has also been a member of the New Zealand Foundation for Research, Science and Technology’s international committee and the APEC advisory committee. Alongside her role as a Mātai trustee, Dame Bronwen is also a trustee for the Gisborne War Memorial Theatre Trust, Te Hā 1769 Sestercentennial Trust, the Gisborne International Music Competition Trust, and the Sunrise Foundation. She brings 36 years of experience in governance and business development to Mātai.
Mātai is a registered Charitable Trust (CC56831) undertaking not-for-profit medical imaging research in Gisborne-Tairāwhiti, Aotearoa-New Zealand.
