Ella, born and raised in Tairawhiti, has completed her first year at the University of Otago studying  first year health science with aspirations of entering medicine, dentistry, or pharmacy next year. She is very grateful for the oppertunity to be part of the Mātai intership programme this summer to further deepen her knowledge and understanding of health problems within our community. She is excited to be part of this intership where she believes she will gain valuble experiences and skills that can be used in her future career within the health sector.
