Jakob Brown is a recent graduate at the University of Auckland, completing his Bachelor in Biomedical Science, specialising in Neuroscience.  He plans to continue a postgraduate study in Biomedical Science, with further aspirations of Medical School.  He is humbled to be part of the Mātai Internship, where he hopes to further his learning with advanced research techniques in his hometown of Gisborne, Tairāwhiti.  Jakob also has ambition to gain better connections within his community, to overcome the barriers that indigenous communities may face while accessing Western medicine.
