Dr Mark Griffin is a data scientist (statistician, mathematician, and computer engineer). He is the CEO of Insight Research Services Associated, a private company based beside Griffith University on the Gold Coast, Australia. Mark completed his PhD exploring techniques in linear algebra for simulating Electron Paramagnetic Resonance spectra, and then has been working in medical imaging (amongst other fields) since 2000. During this time he has worked at the University of Queensland (Australia), the Queensland University of Technology (Australia), McGill University (Canada), Stanford University (USA), and Novartis Pharmaceuticals (Switzerland). He started Insight in 2011.

When Mark’s not becoming euphoric over the latest mathematical equation he spends his time scuba diving (almost every Saturday, he’s starting his Divemaster course in 2023 to become a professional scuba diver), ocean swimming (currently preparing for a 1km swimming rally on the Gold Coast), hiking (doing a 4 hour hike most weekends), playing soccer, and choral singing (with about 35 years’ experience in some of the top choirs in Australia, having done choir tours to prestigious venues in Europe and the USA, and even a brief stint in an American gospel choir while in Montreal).
