Sofia has just completed her first year at the University of Otago studying a Bachelor of Science, Sofia’s chosen career pathway is a reflection of her passion for the well-being of others and her love for community service. Sofia is grateful for the chance to make new connections with fellow students as well as world-class researchers. Sofia sees this internship as a valuable opportunity to gain valuable skills that are needed to be successful in a career in the health sector and at the same time be able to give back to her community. She believes that this internship will be extremely beneficial as she will be able to apply the skills learnt in the internship to her learning at university but also allow her to bring back valuable knowledge to the Tairāwhiti community in the future.
