Associate Professor Scadeng is a research radiologist and MRI scientist with 22 years of experience developing novel MRI methods to investigate clinical and preclinical models of human disease. Her studies explore new ways of viewing the complex functions of the brain. More recently her studies focus on traumatic brain injury, hydrocephalus, drug abuse, and neurodegeneration using a suite of advanced MRI techniques.

 

Miriam is a leader in the field of comparative imaging of anatomy and physiology of various species including dolphins, rodents and birds, as well as the development of new contrast techniques and agents. She has expertise in neuroanatomy, gross anatomy, neuroscience, radiological anatomy, and physiology, and her work crosses a vast number of other fields including imaging software development, neuroscience, and neurology.
