We’re inviting our study participants, tamariki, whānau and the wider community to join us for an evening sharing what we’ve been learning through the Tairāwhiti Child Wellbeing Study and where the research is heading next.

Leigh Potter will share the story behind the study, what we’ve learned from working alongside local tamariki and whānau, why it matters that research represents the children of Tairāwhiti, and what comes next.

Dr Ho-Fung Chan will share some of the exciting things we are learning from MRI scans of children’s lungs, how new technology is helping us better understand how lungs work, and how this research could help us learn more about asthma in Tairāwhiti children.

Dr Ayah Elsayed will share some of the exciting things we are learning from MRI scans of children’s hearts, including how the heart grows, moves and how blood flows through it. This research is helping us build a picture of healthy heart development in tamariki in Tairāwhiti.
